International Presence

Merz International

Besides its headquarters in Germany, Merz Pharmaceuticals GmbH also operates its own subsidiaries in Great Britain, Italy, Mexico, Austria, Switzerland, and the USA. Within the framework of an internationalization strategy and the creation of new subsidiaries, the French subsidiary Merz Pharma France S.A.S. was founded in September 2006, and in April 2007 the Spanish subsidiary Merz Pharma España S.L. was established with headquarters located in Madrid. Just one month later, the representative office in Russia was joined by an independent legal entity founded under the name of Merz Pharma LCC., with headquarters in Moscow. Merz Pharma Canada was founded in January 2009. In many countries, Merz activities are being steered together with accomplished distribution partners. To give greater impetus to international markets, marketing pools have been formed, for instance in Latin America and in the Middle East, that are coordinating the activities in their corresponding regions.

Product portfolio

The products sold outside Germany come from the core fields of Merz Pharmaceuticals and include neurology/psychiatry, dermatology and the metabolism. However, OTC products from Merz are also sold in a number of countries under the brands Merz Spezial® and Pantogar®.
