Merz receives geriatrics award for its Parkinson’s disease drug

Berlin/Frankfurt am Main, 05.03.2001

Merz + Co. has for many years been very successfully researching in the field of Parkinson’ s disease and has developed effective products for the treatment of this disease.

At the Congress of the German Geriatric Society in Berlin the amantadine of Merz was awarded for “Advances in Geriatrics 2001”.

In his laudatory speech Prof. Reichmann, Director of Neurology at the Dresden University Clinic, presented the exciting success story of the drug. This was followed by a symposium chaired by Prof. Reichmann. Amongst the renowned lecturers were Prof. Kornhuber, Erlangen, Prof. Klockgether, Director of the Neurology Clinic at Bonn University and Prof. Verhagen from the Chicago University Clinic.
