"Change in Merz Group leadership: Professor Scheuble will be leaving the company

Frankfurt, 23.04.2007

A change is taking place within Merz Group management: as released today by the Merz Group, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Bernhard Scheuble will be taking leave of his duties as of 30 April 2007. His resignation is taking place upon mutual agreement and on friendly terms.

Both sides regret the decision. Prof. Dr. Scheuble assumed his position as CEO of the Merz Group on 1 October 2006. The shareholder's board thanks him for the work he has done.
Dr. Jochen Hückmann, chairman of the Merz GmbH & Co. KGaA shareholder's board, will take up the leadership duties as of the Merz Group together with managing board members Dr. Martin Zügel, Armin von Buttlar, and Hartmut Erlinghagen.

Merz has been able to raise its continuously growing revenue during the first three quarters of the current fiscal year as well. The company reached sales growth of over € 400 million - approximately 14 percent - with an over-proportional growth of results."
