The Company Merz Pharma

Merz Pharma is an innovative and international healthcare company with its own research and development department. The company is bundling the activities of its subsidiaries Merz Pharmaceuticals, Merz Consumer Care, Merz Dental, and Merz Hygiene, with products ranging from prescription drugs and OTC products for health and wellness, materials for dentists and dental technicians to hygienic products for medical disinfection and cleaning.
The units of Merz Group Services, the fith Merz subsidiary, include Human Resources, Supply Chain/Purchasing, Information Technology (IT), Technical Operations and Finances/Controlling.

Merz Pharma is part of the Merz Group.

Merz Pharmaceuticals: Ethical Drugs

Merz Pharmaceuticals has its own research and development that concentrates on developing medications for such neurological and psychiatric conditions as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease and such neuro-muscular disorders as dystonia. Aesthetic dermatology is the second area of Merz competency. Here Merz deals with improving personal appearance by smoothing skin. The company also develops and markets medications in the so-called clinical field for the treatments of scars, acne, hair loss and fungal infections.

Merz Consumer Care: Beauty and Wellness Products

The Merz Spezial® and tetesept® brands stand for innovative health, beauty and wellness products developed and distributed by Merz Consumer Care. And with considerable success: tetesept®, for instance is No. 1 in the market for baths and the market for cold remedies outside of dispensing chemists. Merz Spezial Dragees® form the basis for an independent segment of the market for combination beauty products that work from inside. The most important factor for the success of Merz Consumer Care is its patented high-quality formulations. Our oil baths, for example, contain patented skin-care liposomes with multiple care functions, our masks have Microbions® with a unique deep-working action.

Merz Dental: Products for Dentists and Dental Technicians

Merz Dental, based in Lütjenburg in Northern Germany, develops and produces anatomical teeth and also offers dentists and dental technicians high-quality filling materials, cements, and casting materials as well as products for prophylaxes and hygiene.

Merz Hygiene: The Specialist for Medical Hygiene

Merz Hygiene specializes in the development and commercialization of innovative disinfection and cleaning products for hospitals, doctor´s offices and laboratories. Due to its continuous and extensive research and development efforts, Merz Hygiene is today one of the most innovative suppliers of disinfection and cleaning products in the medical sector.
